Senior UX Designer / Product Strategist

The Position

We are looking to add a Senior UX Designer / Product Strategist to our core team. Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Plan the structure of the digital products, applications, platforms, and websites we build
  • Research and advocating for the user, leveraging UX best practices
  • Articulate concepts through documentation to drive decision making
  • Build wireframes, prototypes, and other vehicles to demonstrate features and content of a given product or site experience. 
  • Explore design directions, establishing design systems, and creating page layouts
  • Present and lead strategic, design, and user-centered functionality discussions in client meetings
  • Collaborate with developers and other design team members to transform prototypes and designs into digital products
  • Aid business development efforts by providing estimates, reviewing or writing proposals, and joining (or leading) presentations or calls with prospective clients or opportunities

The right candidate has a passion for well-crafted interfaces and enjoys collaborating, communicating, and leading effectively with both internal team members and client stakeholders.

You are genuinely curious about many subjects and love to understand people and organizations. You enjoy and have an eye for good design as well as a desire to work efficiently. You are a strong communicator, curious problem-solver, and motivated self-starter. The position requires an understanding of how the web works, and how to design for mobile products and the web. You will collaborate with a team primarily located in Durham, NC, with other team members in the metro areas of Boston, Denver, and San Francisco.

  • are passionate about accessibility and inclusivity

You are a strong communicator and collaborator who:

  • has excellent writing skills
  • has experience working with and managing client expectations
  • values professionalism and making a good impression
  • can lead strategic design discussions and presentations

You’re comfortable:

  • balancing rich, unique, engaging design with usability and functionality
  • aiding business development efforts through design and strategic contributions to proposals or playing a lead strategic role in introductory calls or presentations
  • working with remote team members and clients

Bonus points for:

  • experience working in an agile environment
  • technical development skills.
